Who we are
INTRODUCING THE PPPC
The Pulp and Paper Products Council is an alliance of product associations serving an international membership in the pulp and paper industry.
PPPC membership today accounts for close to 70% of global market pulp capacity and more than 50% of world
communication papers capacity (newsprint as well as printing & writing papers)
In North America, the PPPC serves its members through five product associations:
The Newsprint Producers Association which represents makers of newsprint.
The Market Pulp Association which represents market pulp producers.
The Printing and Writing Papers Association which represents manufacturers of printing and writing papers.
The Packaging Mills Association representing paper packaging producers.
The Paper Recycling Association of Canada representing companies which recycle recovered paper and paper board to make new paper and board products.
Internationally, the PPPC serves the pulp and paper industries through two associations:
The World Market Pulp Forum which regroups North American market pulp producers, along with manufacturers in Latin America, Asia and Europe.
CEPIPRINT, the European association representing producers of mechanical printing papers, which is an affiliated product group of PPPC.

OUR STAFF
PPPC comprises an experienced and knowledgeable staff of 20 professionals who specialize exclusively in pulp and paper market intelligence, statistics and analysis. PPPC staff includes individuals with extensive pulp and paper expertise, as well as analysts, economists, and a team of programmers and data processing specialists. The President and Chief Executive Officer of the PPPC is Kevin McElhatton, who has more than 15 years of experience in analysing the economics of the pulp and paper industry.
OUR STRUCTURE
Upon joining the PPPC as a full member, a company elects to participate in one or more of its product associations.
Each product group within the PPPC (Newsprint, Printing & Writing Papers, Market Pulp, Packaging, and Recycling) operates autonomously, each with its own chairman and vice-chairman.
PPPC itself is governed by a Board of Directors, comprising the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of each of the product groups. Its role is to ensure proper governance and regulatory compliance.
The PPPC makes every effort to ensure that its activities, including those of its product groups, do not contravene the provisions of competition or anti-trust laws of countries with which its members trade, in particular those of the United States, Canada, and the European Union.
