PACKAGING MILLS ASSOCIATION OF CANADA

Who we are

The Packaging Mills Association of Canada (PMAC) represents producers of packaging papers and boards used in the manufacturing of paper-based packaging products.

PMAC members produce boxboard used, for example, to package consumer products; linerboard and medium used to fabricate corrugated shipping containers; and kraft papers used in the manufacturing of all types of bags and sacks, as well as in a host of speciality applications.

PMAC's mandate is to work on issues that are of concern to Canadian manufacturers of packaging papers and boards, as well as to their customers worldwide. PMAC also carries out statistical and market research work that can be most efficiently carried out by one industry group.

PMAC makes every effort to ensure that its activities do not contravene the provisions of competition or anti-trust laws of countries with which its members trade, in particular those of the United States, Canada, and the European Union.

Boxboard
A general term designating paperboard used to fabricate boxes. It may be plain, lined or clay coated.

Containerboard
Component materials - linerboard and corrugating medium - used to manufacture shipping containers and other corrugated board products.
